Purpose of job

This role provides legal expertise in employment law across the EMEA region, with a focus on advising internal stakeholders, supporting compliance, and mitigating legal risk. The position combines strategic legal advisory work with hands-on involvement in employment-related matters such as policy development, restructuring, and dispute resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the provision of commercially oriented legal advice in order to effectively mitigate labor law risks for the company

  • Maintain regulatory compliance in all employment and remuneration matters within the Bank

  • Advise HR and Legal teams on employment law topics to promote consistency and operational efficiency throughout the EMEA region

  • Coordinate and oversee external legal advisors, optimizing cost-efficiency through in-house expertise

  • Draft, assess, and refine employment documents, internal procedures, and policies

  • Assist organizational restructuring and performance-related processes in alignment with applicable labor laws

  • Ability to provide pragmatic legal input in complex employment law cases and litigation matters

  • Support the creation of a legally compliant, fair, and inclusive workplace environment

Qualifications

  • Qualified German lawyer with both state examinations completed, ideally with an officially recognized focus on employment law (Fachanwalt/Fachanwältin für Arbeitsrecht); prior exposure to French labor law would be advantageous

  • Approximately 4 to 6 years of relevant legal experience, preferably gained in the financial sector, a commercial law firm, or an in-house legal team

  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal drafting, strategic legal advice, and negotiating agreements

  • Ability to present legal matters in a clear and accessible manner to non-legal audiences

  • Excellent intercultural and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experienced in managing diverse stakeholder groups and interacting effectively across multiple tiers of corporate structures

  • Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment

  • Combines business-oriented thinking with practical judgment and a collaborative working style

  • Fluent in German and English
