A multinational industrial company with several thousand employees and operations in the manufacturing industry. The organization is entering a new strategic phase and is looking to further strengthen its visibility, internal cohesion, and external positioning. This role plays a central part in shaping the company’s communications and public affairs agenda — both strategically and operationally.
Strategic Communications Leadership:
Develop and implement a global corporate communications strategy
Shape the company’s narrative and reputation in alignment with business and leadership objectives
Position the CEO and executive team across internal and external channels
Internal Communications:
Drive internal communications initiatives across regions and functions
Lead change and transformation communication in close collaboration with HR
Promote culture, transparency, and engagement across all levels
External Communications & Media Relations:
Manage corporate messaging, media outreach, crisis communications, and press activities
Supervise the content strategy for owned and earned media
Act as the point of contact for communications agencies and media representatives
Public Affairs & Stakeholder Relations:
Build and manage relationships with political, regulatory, and industry stakeholders
Monitor policy developments relevant to the business and advise leadership
Represent the company in public and institutional forums (e.g. industry associations, policy networks)
Leadership & Collaboration:
Lead and develop a small, international communications team
Act as a sparring partner to the CEO and senior leadership
Align cross-functional messaging with departments such as Legal, HR, Strategy, and Compliance
Must-Have:
Degree in Communications, Political Science, Business, or a related field
10+ years of professional experience in corporate communications and/or public affairs, preferably in an international industrial environment
Proven leadership experience in managing teams and steering cross-functional communication efforts
Strong track record in stakeholder management, positioning of leadership, and strategic messaging
Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and German
High level of political awareness and intercultural competence
Nice-to-Have:
Experience in regulatory environments or public institutions
Background in employer branding or transformation communication
Familiarity with external agency and partner management
