Risk Management, Credit Risk Policy Management Specialist

Purpose of job

In this 6-month interim position, you will update and refine the bank’s credit risk policies, rules, and procedures. Your efforts will ensure alignment with regulatory standards, particularly those set by the ECB, and embed these frameworks into daily operations. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to maintain high-quality documentation and seamless policy implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Policy & Documentation

    • Update and maintain key procedures, rules, and policies, ensuring they meet European regulatory standards.

    • Draft new or revised credit risk policy documents, achieving high audit quality.

  • Regulatory Compliance

    • Conduct regulatory gap analyses and translate findings into practical, compliant credit risk frameworks.

    • Collaborate with global teams to gather necessary materials and ensure alignment with local regulatory requirements.

  • Governance & Framework

    • Enhance the governance structure surrounding credit risk management, integrating updated policies into day-to-day operations.

    • Coordinate with front, middle, and back offices to embed required processes seamlessly.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external consultants to manage ECB-related tasks.

    • Provide regular progress reports and ensure timely delivery of policy and procedural updates.

  • Implementation Support

    • Offer guidance and support to ensure successful adoption of enhanced credit risk policies across the organization within set timelines.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in credit risk management policy, governance, or framework design

  • Familiarity with ECB/EBA regulatory requirements (e.g., Definition of Default, Forbearance, Loan Origination)

  • Proven track record in drafting and integrating credit risk policies

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint (Access database skills preferred)
