Purpose of job

The role is responsible for driving the supervisory engagement with the European Central Bank (ECB), the Single Resolution Board (SRB) and other regulatory authorities, in line with the bank's status as a directly supervised European financial institution. It combines regulatory expertise with coordination, governance and stakeholder engagement to strengthen supervisory dialogue and support the bank's regulatory preparedness.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the planning, coordination and execution of the ECB Onboarding programme, ensuring the timely delivery of regulatory requirements and effective engagement across the organisation.

  • Managing day-to-day interactions with the ECB following onboarding, including the coordination of supervisory requests, regulatory deliverables, meetings and ongoing supervisory priorities.

  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key regulatory stakeholders, including the ECB Joint Supervisory Team (JST), the Single Resolution Board (SRB), BaFin, Bundesbank and other National Competent Authorities.

  • Coordinating regulatory inspections, stress testing exercises, supervisory reviews, questionnaires and other ad hoc regulatory initiatives across the bank.

  • Monitoring regulatory developments and analysing emerging supervisory expectations, providing guidance and insight to support regulatory compliance and preparedness.

  • Acting as a liaison with Regulatory Affairs and supporting the coordination of regulatory initiatives, supervisory colleges and group-wide regulatory matters.

  • Partnering with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting and business functions to ensure consistent, high-quality regulatory engagement and communication.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience within banking, regulatory affairs, regulatory reporting, risk management, compliance or a related financial services environment, including experience supporting interactions with banking regulators.

  • Proven ability to apply regulatory expertise to support supervisory engagement and deliver governance-focused insights.

  • Strong understanding of European banking regulation, supervisory frameworks and regulatory governance, ideally including exposure to ECB, SRB or National Competent Authority engagement.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex regulatory matters effectively.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while building strong relationships across teams and organisational levels.

  • Understanding of banking products, business processes and risk drivers, particularly within Corporate Banking, Capital Markets or Credit.

  • Hands-on experience coordinating complex regulatory deliverables across multiple stakeholders and managing challenging regulatory deadlines.
