A wholly owned European subsidiary of a major global banking group, established as a German credit institution (AG) headquartered in Frankfurt with branches across the EEA. The bank operates as a universal bank serving corporate and institutional clients, with a compliance function that is well established and professionally structured across the regulatory, advisory, financial crime, and surveillance domains.
To lead Central Compliance on an interim basis for a period of six to nine months. The role holds responsibility for the regulatory and advisory compliance agenda outside the financial crime remit and provides senior leadership to the teams within this area.
Lead Central Compliance across the regulatory compliance and advisory teams, providing governance, direction, and oversight. Manage and develop the assigned compliance topics independently through to resolution. Provide leadership to the directors and teams within the area of responsibility. Represent Compliance in relevant senior committees. Advise the business on capital markets transactions across Global Markets, Corporate Banking, and Debt Capital Markets. Collaborate closely with compliance and business colleagues in the UK on day-to-day matters. Financial crime, anti-money laundering, and sanctions are managed by dedicated specialist functions and fall outside this remit.
Extensive compliance experience at senior level within the banking sector. Strong regulatory expertise in MiFID II, MaComp, and WpHG, with a sound understanding of conduct and business advisory topics. Good working knowledge of capital markets products and processes. Proven ability to manage topics autonomously and to provide clear direction across teams. Fluent English is essential; German is required for this market.
A senior interim engagement of six to nine months with strong planning security and a clearly defined scope of responsibility. Senior leadership remit within a globally connected institution. Based on-site in Frankfurt.
