The role focuses on supporting both client-facing and internal functions by delivering accurate and timely tax insights, ensuring compliance, and driving operational efficiency. The tax team will take on a key role in optimising the group’s VAT position by analysing applicable regulations and identifying opportunities.
Track developments in German tax legislation and evaluate their impact on the organisation and its German branch; implement required adjustments in close cooperation with Finance teams.
Develop and support an effective new product process to ensure compliance to corporate values, tax policies, and German tax requirements.
Assist the Head of Tax in preparing annual and monthly VAT returns for Germany’s VAT group (two legal entities).
Review input VAT methodology and outgoing invoices to safeguard compliance and optimise efficiency.
Contribute to the rollout of e-invoicing in Germany.
Promote technology-driven solutions to enhance efficiency, including the replacement of EUC files with more advanced tools.
Oversee the revision of tax policies and procedures while ensuring that records and documentation remain accurate and up to date.
Maintain effective relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, industry associations, and headquarters abroad.
At least six years of professional experience in German tax legislation, with a strong focus on VAT.
Knowledge of international taxation is advantageous.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills in both German and English.
Proven ability to lead tax-related projects and convey complex tax matters to non-specialist audiences.
Willingness to adopt new technologies and enhance existing processes.
