The role is focused on ensuring a sound and comprehensive Model Risk Management framework in full alignment with regulatory expectations and internal standards. Responsibilities include maintaining the Model Risk Appetite Framework, coordinating the Model Risk Management Committee, and overseeing model governance processes. The position also supports the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and standards, the management of model inventories and findings, as well as the review of validations and regulatory feedback. It involves close collaboration with model owners, supervisors, and group entities to embed consistent MRM practices across the organization.
Support the execution of the Model Risk Management framework.
Maintain and report on the Model Risk Appetite Framework in line with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
Prepare and coordinate the Model Risk Management Committee overseeing models used within the Bank.
Develop, update, and maintain model governance policies, procedures, and standards.
Act as primary contact for model governance, partnering with model owners, supervisors, and users.
Manage the Model Inventory, Findings, and Assessments.
Track and oversee remediation of validation, audit, and regulatory findings, ensuring timely completion.
Contribute to the design, review, and oversight of independent validation standards and processes.
Coordinate the work and oversee the delivery of outsourced model risk services provided by group entities under the Bank’s risk outsourcing framework, ensuring quality and timely execution.
Academic degree or equivalent professional experience, ideally with a quantitative focus
Strong knowledge of mathematical modeling techniques, including stress testing.
Solid quantitative and analytical skills for model validation and testing.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for model risk management.
Proficiency in model risk management practices, validation, and testing.
Good understanding of risk modeling and data management tools.
Understanding of regulatory standards and supervisory expectations (MaRisk, ECB, EBA).
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Cultural awareness and adaptability.
