Purpose of job

The role is focused on delivering a consistent and accurate ILAAP in full alignment with ECB regulatory expectations and internal standards. Responsibilities include conducting the liquidity risk assessment, developing the funding plan, reviewing processes and quantification tools, and maintaining full documentation. The position also supports the analysis of new regulations, definition of business requirements, implementation of liquidity risk components, and maintenance of comprehensive PPMs. It involves cross-functional collaboration to embed ILAAP principles across systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the coordination and execution of the ILAAP, ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations, including risk identification, measurement, and reporting processes

  • Work closely with Treasury, STPD, and F&C to ensure the effective implementation of the funding plan and robust liquidity risk monitoring

  • Define and maintain liquidity risk metrics, limits, tolerances, and control mechanisms tailored to the bank’s risk profile

  • Develop and implement liquidity risk metrics, limits, tolerances, and control measures aligned with the bank’s risk profile

  • Design and operate a comprehensive stress testing framework, including the development of multi-year adverse scenarios

  • Contribute to the full implementation of the liquidity risk framework, including the development of procedures and delivery of training to relevant stakeholders

  • Strengthen the quality and reliability of liquidity risk reporting by implementing controls, introducing monitoring processes, and driving root cause analysis

  • Lead or support strategic initiatives related to the liquidity risk framework, including design, business requirement definition, and implementation

  • Deliver internal training to promote awareness of the liquidity risk management framework, its governance, and associated culture

  • Prepare and present ILAAP results, risk assessments, and framework updates to senior leadership and oversight committees such as ALMCo

  • Act as a subject matter expert for ILAAP topics within the risk function and represent the function in internal and group-level liquidity governance forums

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in liquidity risk management, ILAAP oversight, and working under ECB supervision

  • Academic degree or equivalent professional experience, ideally with a quantitative focus

  • Full professionell proficiency in English; German is a great advantage

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and supervisory standards relating to liquidity and ILAAP (e.g., ECB Guidelines, Intraday Liquidity expectations)

  • In-depth knowledge of banking products, including derivatives and bond trading

  • Familiarity with stress testing approaches and liquidity risk measurement methodologies

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement liquidity risk frameworks, policies, and governance structures, particularly within an ILAAP context

  • Exposure to liquidity modeling techniques and data quality practices is an advantage

  • Awareness of ESG considerations is beneficial

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by a structured and detail-oriented mindset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
