Purpose of job

The role contributes to the design and operation of operational resilience capabilities within the EMEA framework while addressing local management and regulatory expectations. It acts as the local lead for operational resilience interactions and supports first-line activities across business continuity management, technology risk management, digital resilience, testing, ICT incident management, and third-party management. Through close collaboration with local and regional stakeholders, the position helps embed operational resilience knowledge and responsibilities and supports compliance with DORA and other relevant operational resilience requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the identification, assessment, and validation of Critical or Important Functions (CIFs) for EU AG.

  • Contribute to the review and enhancement of operational resilience methodologies to remediate gaps and implement improvements.

  • Promote operational resilience awareness among relevant local stakeholders and support the clarification of associated responsibilities.

  • Act as local representative within EMEA Operational Resilience governance forums.

  • Coordinate and support local business continuity processes and testing, including active stakeholder engagement.

  • Liaise with the EMEA BCM team to ensure local business continuity requirements are appropriately reflected in regional frameworks.

  • Support the maintenance and management of local business continuity and crisis management plans.

  • Support the digital operational resilience testing program, ensuring EU AG priorities are embedded in EMEA test plans in coordination with relevant EMEA stakeholders.

  • Execute digital operational resilience testing activities and support EMEA teams in scenario development, challenge of protection measures, and evaluation of test outcomes.

  • Consolidate, track, and report first-line resilience testing results, manage post-test remediation activities, and support preparation for subsequent testing cycles.

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor relevant KPIs and KRIs.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations on first-line digital resilience status to committees and senior management, and actively contribute to related initiatives and projects.

Qualifications

  • Several years of professional experience in operational resilience, business continuity, or related risk disciplines, ideally within a financial institution

  • Strong expertise in the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and established business continuity standards (e.g. ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27031, BSI 200-4)

  • Solid understanding of IT environments, service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL), and current technologies

  • Good knowledge of incident and crisis management, including incident lifecycles and impact mitigation practices

  • Sound understanding of banking operations, governance structures, and regulatory environments; exposure to investment banking and capital markets is an advantage

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering operational resilience and business continuity testing capabilities

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages, challenge assumptions constructively, and engage senior stakeholders

  • Ability to build trust and effective working relationships across sponsors, stakeholders, and peers

  • Strong judgment to balance strategic objectives with proportional, practical, and operationally viable solutions

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage
