The role is centered on supporting the effective oversight and maintenance of internal credit grading models within the established model risk management framework. Responsibilities include coordinating with global and local model owners, validators, auditors, senior management, and regulators to ensure models are properly developed, implemented, and monitored. The position contributes to the assessment of model performance, documentation, and governance, providing assurance that credit grading practices remain robust, compliant, and aligned with regulatory and organizational expectations.
Support the effective management of local credit grading models by assisting the Head of Local Credit Grading Model Owner in the planning, execution, and documentation of all model-related activities in line with governance and model risk management standards
Coordinate communication with key stakeholders—including senior management, global and regional model owners, model developers, users, validators, and auditors—to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely issue resolution
Contribute to the ongoing monitoring of credit grading models by performing analyses, preparing documentation, and supporting timely completion of required assessments
Maintain and enhance local Model Development Documents (MDDs) to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with internal and regulatory expectations
Support the remediation of findings raised by validators, auditors, and regulators by tracking corrective actions and assisting in validating the effectiveness of implemented solutions
Assist in activities across the full model lifecycle, including attestations, change requests, user surveys, implementations, and decommissioning
Enhance model risk management and governance processes by identifying improvement opportunities and strengthening documentation and control practices
Approximately three years of professional experience as a model owner, model developer or model validator, preferably with a focus on credit risk models
Strong familiarity with ECB, EBA and German regulatory requirements, including CRR3, Definition of Default, Loan Origination and Monitoring, and MaRisk
High level of technical proficiency, including advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and programming languages (R, Python, SAS), complemented by database experience (MS Access, SQL) and data visualization exposure (Power BI)
