Purpose of job

This role oversees and executes complex, cross-border transformation initiatives within the EMEA Transformation and Change function. It carries end-to-end responsibility for the entire project lifecycle, beginning with the preparation of the business case and continuing through to final implementation, ensuring that outcomes align with regulatory requirements, strategic priorities, and established project governance frameworks. • Own the full project lifecycle and financial management in accordance with EMEA’s project governance framework, demonstrating clear accountability and ensuring alignment of all outputs with the organisation’s strategic objectives and business profile.

  • Direct, engage, and coordinate cross-functional teams across the EMEA region, bringing together stakeholders from various disciplines to achieve timely outcomes while minimising disruption to operations and client service.

  • Oversee the development and completion of all key project components, including business justification, regulatory alignment, roadmap definition, budget oversight, testing phases, implementation, and transition into business-as-usual operations.

  • Proactively identify risks and issues, determine appropriate escalation pathways, and present mitigation strategies to senior sponsors and governance forums (e.g., Steering Committees) to reduce exposure and prevent adverse impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic background; alternatively, extensive specialised expertise in a relevant field

  • Recognised project management certification (e.g., PMP, APM) or comparable qualification preferred

  • Proven experience within financial services, including knowledge of banking operations, financial markets, and the applicable regulatory landscape

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering projects in a financial services environment

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire teams, define and communicate a clear project vision, secure stakeholder buy-in, manage conflict, negotiate effectively, and provide coaching where required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence and diplomacy to provide constructive challenge

  • Solid understanding of team dynamics and team development, with practical experience in coordinating or managing teams
