This role supports the second line of defence in overseeing third-party risk within a regulated banking environment. It contributes to the development and application of a robust risk management framework that ensures compliance with applicable regulatory standards and internal governance requirements. By independently reviewing first-line activities, monitoring risk indicators, and supporting regulatory engagement, the role helps ensure that external service providers are appropriately assessed, monitored, and governed across the institution’s European operations.
Support the design, maintenance, and implementation of the second-line framework for Third Party Risk Management in accordance with regulatory standards and internal policies
Review the First Line’s third-party risk approach to ensure it aligns with the organisation’s business model, control expectations, and regulatory requirements
Independently assess key elements such as risk assessments, due diligence, exit strategies, and performance indicators
Monitor relevant risk indicators and support ongoing oversight of third-party exposures
Contribute to the preparation of reporting and management information to support operational and strategic decisions
Assist in the coordination of third-party risk responsibilities across internal stakeholders and systems
Support regulatory engagements and internal governance requirements in collaboration with the Head of Operational/Non-Financial Risk Management
Participate in projects and initiatives related to the further development of third-party risk oversight
University degree in a relevant field such as finance, business, economics, or law
Full professional proficiency in English; German language skills are an advantage
Experience in a second-line function, ideally with a focus on third-party or outsourcing risk within a regulated financial institution
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to third-party risk (e.g. MaRisk, DORA)
Solid understanding of risk frameworks and how they support strategic and operational objectives
Analytical and structured working style, with strong Excel skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across departments and seniority levels
