This position offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced credit risk leader to take ownership of the bank’s IFRS 9 framework. With responsibility spanning model development, validation, and integration, the Director will play a pivotal role in enhancing the accuracy and governance of credit risk provisioning. Beyond technical oversight, the role contributes strategically to aligning risk methodologies with regulatory expectations and the bank’s overall risk appetite. Lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of IFRS9 models (PD, LGD, EAD), ensuring full compliance with regulatory and internal governance standards
Oversee the entire IFRS9 process, including calibration, validation, implementation and continuous performance monitoring
Work cross-functionally with Finance, Risk Analytics, IT, and Validation to drive the seamless deployment and maintenance of IFRS9 models within the bank’s risk and finance systems
Ensure IFRS 9 methodologies are in harmony with the bank’s credit risk strategy, risk appetite, and capital and stress testing frameworks
Act as a subject matter expert on IFRS9-related topics in discussions with senior management, internal committees, auditors, and supervisory authorities
Provide assistance to the ICAAP process by promoting consistency between IFRS9 results and capital adequacy assessments
Track evolving regulatory developments and industry standards, translating them into practical updates to the IFRS9 framework
Lead initiatives to elevate data quality, model documentation, and governance processes
10+ years of experience in credit risk management, with proven expertise in IFRS 9 model development and governance
Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics
Deep knowledge of credit risk modeling techniques and familiarity with regulatory expectations (e.g., ECB, EBA)
Proven expertise in managing IFRS9 frameworks in a bank or a financial institution
Highly developed project management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
Proficiency in programming and analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, SAS, SQL) is valued as a key asset
