The role is focused on maintaining a comprehensive internal control and accounting framework in alignment with regulatory standards and internal policies. Key responsibilities include strengthening control processes, supporting audits, ensuring compliance with HGB, IFRS, and MaRisk, and contributing to statutory reporting. The position also covers data governance, policy development, and accounting aspects of new products, while fostering accountability and continuous improvement across the organization.
Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of an effective internal control framework across business units.
Carry out regular control assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and recommend corrective measures.
Engage with various departments to implement data governance principles within control processes, promoting data integrity, traceability, and accountability.
Deliver reports on the effectiveness of controls and present key findings to senior management.
Conduct reviews of quarterly CIF and NON-CIF reports, including balance sheet substantiation.
Ensure accounting processes comply with HGB, IFRS, and MaRisk.
Provide support for the New Product Process by addressing accounting-related inquiries, defining procedures and controls, and coordinating testing across the entity and its branches.
Contribute to annual statutory reporting under IFRS and HGB, including preparation of notes, direct contact with auditors, and coordination of audit components (e.g., IFRS 7 Notes).
Educated to Master’s level; any professional qualification is considered a plus.
Broad experience gained in international financial institutions or consultancy environments.
Strong expertise in HGB and IFRS with a solid understanding of control frameworks.
Ability to analyze complex matters, challenge assumptions, and provide clear explanations.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present accounting issues to senior management and front office.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and IT skills, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge; experience with other data tools is an asset.
Capable of working independently and driving solutions through to full implementation.
