Purpose of job

The Business Model Assessment (BMA) is a key element within the ECB’s Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP). It evaluates the sustainability and resilience of a bank’s business model while identifying potential vulnerabilities. This position plays an essential role in ensuring that all BMA-related requirements are properly understood, implemented, and integrated into the organization’s planning, forecasting, profit allocation, loan pricing, and funds transfer pricing processes. The role also involves close coordination with teams across the EU and EMEA regions and the alignment of methodologies, governance, and IT-related developments.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Business Model Assessment framework in line with ECB expectations

  • Contribute to planning and forecasting activities as well as profit allocation, loan pricing, and funds transfer pricing processes

  • Assist in defining conceptual frameworks, governance standards, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and transparency

  • Coordinate with relevant teams across various branches to ensure methodological consistency

  • Support IT- and data-related enhancements to ensure regulatory alignment and methodological accuracy

  • Collaborate closely with management reporting and product control functions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree required; professional qualifications are considered an advantage

  • Initial experience in a controlling or finance role inside a financial institution, ideally in an investment bank

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills combined with sound understanding of financial planning and performance processes

  • High skills in data management and IT-related topics relevant to finance

  • Ability to interpret and challenge complex concepts while providing clear, structured explanations

  • Capable in building effective relationships and fostering teamwork across departments and regions

  • Independent, proactive, and detail-oriented working style

  • Business-fluent English; German is a plus
